Evening all,
I was giving my 1250 GSA a good wash today and noticed a marked difference on the colour of the heads. The right hand side looks almost purple(bike was cold) and one on left hand side looks in line with Engine colour.
Bike is new to me since May of this year and had only 7,000 miles on it when I bought it.
It I had the 719 option on it, just curious if this is normal as I’ve not noticed it until now.

Is it parked on the side stand all the time or the centre stand. Would that make a difference I have no clue when your fire it up maybe oil temp difference.

Almost looks like a bike/wheel cleaner has attacked the anodizing on the "purple" one.

Do you have black anodized wheels and are they ok? Anything else on the bike changing colour the same way?

Hi Mike it’s the only part on the bike gone like this, I only wash with a shampoo and don’t use any chemicals and had gold wheels.

Mostly on side stand but I can’t see how this would have an affect on colouring on the outside of the casing?

That's odd. Maybe just bad luck for that part but looking at the colour I think it's the anodizing failing for some reason.

Do you park your bike in such as way that one side gets more sunlight regularly. Discoloured black anodised finishes which go either purple or green tinted is due generally to UV damage. The rate of damage can be accelerated if the anodise is quite thin, so different black parts can be damaged at different rates.

If you bought it from a dealer, take it back and get them to change it.

Not sure the approved used warranty covers cosmetic issues??
Whatever. They shouldn't have sold it to him with only 1 purple head over. He should have a matching pair.
