anyone know which is the live wire feeding the aux socket on the new 1200ADV

Assuming it's the same as "basic" 1200...

I recently resoldered my connections...

should be Red/Green stripe (brown is the neg. IIRC)
live connects to the lower pin on the socket

you can double-check by multimeter - with ignition switched on live probe to centre of socket and neg probe to -VE terminal on battery will give 12.x volts (the same to outer part of socket gives nothing) - it's a clip (top and bottom press with fingers) connection at the back of the socket - repeat same with wire connection.

Just as a matter of interest what are you going to wire up ?

I'm assuming it is the same as R1200GS - the ZFE unit seems to detect excessive current draw and can switch off that circuit - there is a thread about it somewhere that suggests this might have something to do with a software update - in either case it's still a problem for me and my heated jacket thermostat :spitfire

Was going to wire gps, heated jacket and autocom. On reflection I better read the threads, and may just put the autocom to the aux socket, and wire gps and jacket staright of the battery
