I have found two combined Sat Nav & Speed camera detector machines:

BlueMedia model no BM6300 £300 from Motorworld

Road Angel Navigator £600 from Halfords

Huge difference in price but do you get what you pay for?!

Are there better units out there?

Andrew.

Try a windows smartphone (Orange SPV 550 for example, or the upcoming Hitachi i300 with 3gb internal storage for MP3s) and TomTom Mobile 5.

Big advantage is that you get FREE (!!) camera updates from www.pocketgpsworld.com which is just super. These updates are put together by users collaborating and sending camera updates into the pocketgpsworld team. Top effort.

Works brill as well.

And you can get a John Cleese voice for the navigation instructions.

Oh - and its a phone too.

Garmin has released a new GPSR called a 2720 that will accept uploads of speed camera databases. It also provides traffic message information.

I don't know much about the other products that you mention, however, I think some of the other products provide subscriptions (free or paid) to updated lists of speed camera locations. I don't know if Garmin plans to do that or not.
