Hey vloggers,

Has anyone come up with an easy way to align multiple camera angles when the audio is different (so cant use the clever sync thing in Premiere Pro) and where you have multiple smaller clips as opposed to one long reel.

Almost every YT video that shows how to do this alignment quickly uses the audio track of your main camera to sync up with the others. However, My main cam has voice audio inside my helmet but the other camera is on the handlebars so only has bike/wind noise. Or is it just a manual process that I have to devote time too.

Any tips gratefully received.

Clap your hands to give an audio and visual alignment (or use a clapperboard!)

If you’re using GoPro and compatible hardware and their Labs firmware, you could try sync’ing their clocks? https://gopro.github.io/labs/control/precisiontime/

Or look at TentacleSync or Deity TC for expensive options.

As mentioned above, use a loud/distinct noise to sync them up. You'll see the spike on the microphone audio trail to tell you when that occurred during the filming.

I often run seperate cams and I am afraid its just manual aligning of the clips I then turn down the volume on the clips that I use as B Roll

I usually run 2 cams and a seperate field recorder to record the engine noise

The hardest thing I do is the audio when you are filming another bike from the bike you are riding (ie when they are following then overtake) as you need to record the audio of the bike that you are filming

Audio is really important and in many ways more important than the video and MUCH harder to get right when filming on a bike

Or do as Bruce (Teapot One) does, open and slam your visor shut, whilst shouting “Sync’em Up!”

Some good ideas here. Agree re audio. I'm happy with that now......after many failed attempts to get it right.

The making an audible link doesn't really work for me. I may choose to set the cameras recording on the move so clapping of hands is definitely out and beeping horn might make other road users think it's aimed at them.

Sounds as though old fashioned manual alignment is the only way then.

As for Teapot one. He's a star 😂
