After cancelling last weeks test ride having sort of talked myself out of it I succumbed and tried the thing. And what a thing it is!

I cannot add to all the praise and platitudes being heaped on this bike having set off with a decidely negative approach.

I knew i would buy one after 5 miles ! I think it is so bloody good it makes you laugh out loud with every twist of the wrist.

Any way i struck a deal that was too good to turn down and i will be taking delivery of a white one in August

Feckit ! got a test ride booked for 11th July .........I was hoping for some negative reports on this bike so I can talk myself out of needing one .......but at this rate, it looks like I'll be selling my should to the devil again

That's annoying. I test rode one Saturday, and they said they had a cancelled order. I didn't think too much about it, but when I spoke to the DP, he said its end of quarter, so they'd do me a "deal I couldn't refuse". They lived up to that!

Delivery tomorrow.

It took me a while to 20mph extra on to my corner entry, then I scared myself silly and decided slow was ok

A truly excellent machine, but not for the engine (which is a peach), but for the handling, it is sublime.

When I saw the first four valver (R1100RS) being tested at der Nürburgring in 1991 I wanted one, returned to Blighty and told Shaun at Rainbow I wanted one, I wanted the first one, and I wanted it in red

1994 I took delivery of one of the first ... strewth, it put the fun back in to motorcycling. We said to ourselves back then, how the feck to they better this

Every successive BMW just gets better and better and better

So how are they going to better the XR? Dunno, but I bet they will
