The Alternative Queen of Reading
Also coming to the Olympia Ballroom soon is The Alternative Queen of Reading! To celebrate International Women's Day, Alternative Queen returns on 7th March to showcase the weird, the wonderful and the downright eccentric side of Reading. The event will raise money for SupportU, the South East's LGBT health and wellbeing centre, and Rosa, which supports projects that benefit women and girls in the UK.
As well as the contestants, an exciting range of acts will be also be performing: confirmed so far are the live silhouette artist Taz Burns, the World’s Worst Boy Band ™ No Direction, German chanteuse The Berlin Baroness as compere, and last year’s Alternative Queen, Dame La Reine, performing an especially made burlesque act.
