A friend of mine is looking for an aftermarket comfort seat for his 1300 . Any recommendations? Anything for sale?

Hi, Wunderlich. I got one used on eBay and it transforms the 1300. I have a BMW comfort seat on the loaner and it reminded me how bad it is and how good the replacement is.

Barry

I fitted the Wunderlich seat lifting kit to my R1300GS and it made all the difference - levelling the seat by raising the front a bit. I now find the seat equally as comfortable as my previous 1250GS, and suitable for long days.

Worth a try before buying a new seat, which is in itself, something of a lottery.

Hope you find a comfy seat….
I don’t find the original seat too bad for me ( but I’m only 13 stone, 5’10, so not large by tosser standards)
And I fitted cool covers to both rider and pillion seat, so don’t have to try to find a suitable seat.

Good luck on your search for a decent seat that suits you.

I can recommend the Isotta. They're italian, you get different colours and you can have them heated, too. I went for the standard seat with prostatic channel...

Thanks for that I will pass it on. He seems to be getting on well with the seat riser kit I got for him.

Heated Wunderlich for me. Did 270 miles out with Smartbazza in Scotland last Saturday and never thought about the seat all day.

I had the standard comfort seat on my GSA and found it uncomfortable after 40 minutes. It was better if I set the front alone in the high setting, but with that extra height, I could no longer flat foot both sides.

I threw the dice and bought the low comfort seat and set it high at the front. As soon as I got on it I found it much firmer than the standard seat. I thought I had wasted my money. I've done a two hour ride on it, with a mid point break. I totally forgot about my seat. Very happy and I can still flat foot the bike.

more firm is always best. soft equals misery

By way of update.

My mate is in Italy having travelled through Spain. Ferry from Ireland to Spain and after the Picos he went on to Italy via a ferry from Barcelona headed towards the Adriatic coast. I took up Roger’s kind offer above and bought his Wunderlich seat. My mate Dave is very happy.
Thank for the information, safe riding
