Following on from Johnny Boxers thread about his seat, I thought I would show you my XChallenge seat I had done a few months ago.
I got Tony Archer to do it, he's made it wider in the middle where you plonk your arse, and recovered it in a waterproof suede effect material.
It's a thousand times comfier than the original enduro shaped seat, I've not been too far yet without stopping, I guess the furthest is about 70miles down to Stafford the other weekend, I know it would have creased me as standard.
I initially had a gel pad installed, but couldn't get on with it, plus I could see the outline of the pad under the seat material, you probably wouldn't notice it if you didn't know it was there, but it just bugged me. So it went back to Tony to have it removed, I'm much happier now, it's perfect. I don't actually think it was any comfier with the gel pad in, but everyones different.
Have a look at the pictures, I have put a line of masking tape to show the line of the original seat, you can (or should) be able to see the different profile.

Nice.......................was it the low seat or high seat originally

Any probs getting your legs down?

If I asked him to do it for me, would he be able to replicate it from your work

It was the standard seat originally.

No probs touching the floor, mind you I am 6'3"

I can't see any reason why he can't replicate it for you, just perhaps print a copy of the picture to show him what you want.

Cost?

I think it worked out about £60-70, then it was about £40 extra for the gel pad.

Sorry I'm a bit vague on the price, but I had another seat off one of my classics done at the same time, and a seat for a friend.
