Not a typical thread but, at work, I've been using Greenstar for 15 years.
Late last year, they changed their routes, wrote to tell me and it didn't suit.
We agreed/accepted/tolerated a compromise schedule but this year so far, they've failed to turn up every Friday as our closing time doesn't suit their schedule. :club:

I'm about to look for an alternative operator.
Before I do, does anyone have any "I'm very happy" or "Don't go near" stories / opinions, generally but more applicably, in Cork/Munster.

Well I'm just domestic but found greenstR very inflexible, discovered this when I left large cardboard box out next to recycling bin for collection. They refused to collect as it hadn't been pre arranged, anyway they reluctantly took it after phone call to depot. Countryclean on other hand have no such issues, very happy to collect oversized boxes or stuff left next to bin. Not sure how they are for commercial stuff but if their attitude is any indication I'd say they must e worth a try.

Have you told them of your concern? if you are a valued customer (Worth the hassel, pay your bill ect) they will try keep you.

Phoned to politely complain three weeks ago. "I've made a phone call to Cork. Won't happen this week" No collection.
Phoned to politely complain two weeks ago. "I've made a phone call to Cork. Won't happen this week" No collection.
Phoned to politely complain earlier this week. "I'll call Cork and make absolutely sure it doesn't happen this week. I'll call you back tomorrow" No call, no collection.
Phoned to politely complain this morning. "I've made a phone call to Cork. They're aiming to be with you by 2 p.m. (our closing time)" I've waited until 3. No collection.

They're aware. I've been polite. I've been firm. I've been clear. Their direct debit has always been paid.

Just ring to cancel the contract then, they may then change their run, if not cancel it but make sure you have something else in place. I deal with waste at my work, i had a similar issue and did that, they now run to what we need not what they want. I do have 5 large BIffa bins emptied 2 times a week and it’s worth a fair chunk of money to them.

Thankfully, they collect on Wednesday's as well so the build up's not significant.
That said, being a food business, I'd rather not have rubbish sitting there for a week.
It used be Monday and Thursday which was ideal. Now Wednesday and Friday which is barely tolerable but once a week won't do.

DSB, I've told them that unless they come up with a plan next week, I'll be pricing elsewhere.
