Anyone out there fitted their own Starcom to a 1150GS? If so where did you link in to the loom?

What is the unused socket for on the right frame rail under the pillion seat?

I don't really want to just use the piggy back connectors that come with the kit as they don't look very professional or reliable.

That's a diagnostic socket under the seat! You can take a switched supply off the orange/brown connector block under the tank. Sits behind the headstock and you need to get the tank off.
Best way to connect is to cut back the insulation with a scalpel (carefully!) and solder.
