I don't know if anyone has posted this question before but here goes, i have been trying to bluetooth my scala rider headset with the navigator v , but the device is not recognising it so i take it that it is not compatible, if it is not what is or do i have to buy a comms set up from BMW, help would be appreciated.:flag

Hi Sungaets,
I'm sure I'm asking the bleeding obvious but have you paired the two devices by making the headset discoverable i.e. purple flashing light ( see headset manual) and then search for it with the GPS using the blue tooth menu, once it has found it and you put in the code I think it's 0000 they will be paired automatically every time you turn them on.
Good luck

or get a blue tooth dongle from sony M600 paired mine to it and its a great bit of kit,

And, if the Nav V is like the Nav IV, then you must fire up the Nav IV/V before you start the headset up. That is certainly the case when I use either the Sony MW600 or a Sena SMH10R to connect to my Nav IV

If the headset is already on when you turn on the navigator, it just does not recognise the headset. Don't ask me why!!

From what I have read about the Rider headset it must be turned on and then set to discoverable to pair the Scarla and the Nav V.

The Nav V turned on
the scala turned on and then set to discoverable (purple flashing light)
go to Bluetooth menu on the Gps and search for devices
when scala found pair both
enter code when asked 0000 zeros
then they should be paired.
:)

Thanks for the help, turns out i was doing things wrong, having no instructions for the scala rider headset didn't help ether, but to cut a long story short i was not doing the correct procedure for connecting.:flag

I am using a Scala Rider Q3 which has never been working with my Nav 4. With the Nav 5 it works perfectly! I doesn't matter which of both devices you turn on first. They'll find each other.
