Complete Moroccan piste tracklog CDs

At last I have the CDs of tracklogs of pistes covering the whole of Morocco, these have been sent to me by friends/guides in Morocco.

There are around 1000 different tracks and a few roads on the CD which can be opened in Mapsource and viewed there. Tracks can be chosen and transferred to your GPS in the usual way.

The detail is fantastic, and make an ideal compliment to Moroccan topographic software, which is a free download, although the tracklogs can also be used with just the GPS base map.
I've checked the routes and there is much more detail for the remote routes than Moroccan topographic.

The advent of the GPS has lead to a decline in work for many Morccans as guides and you buy these CDs with a gentlemans agrreement that you'll not just copy them and pass them on to friends.

They are £25 each which I shall pass on, plus £1.50 for me to post them out.

Very useful for planning trips and interesting to see so many routes perhaps not previously considered.

I'll try and post a picture of how it looks in Mapsource but not having much success yet as my IT skill don't seem to be up to it .

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding something, but I've just compared the screen shot around Merzouga with the Morokko Topo map and I can't see a great deal of difference, maybe five or six track segments.

I've also spent some time checking the screen shot around Marrakech and many of the GPS tracks are in fact main roads.

Do you know the history of this collection? GPS tracks are notoriously difficult things to collate. Some of mine are when I got lost and took a shortcut across open country, but I don't think anyone would want to follow that route.

Do you have the latest version of Morokko Topo map--updated a few days ago?

Yes I thought you would check.

The tracklogs are a collection from 1989 through to Oct 2006, with the majority from 2005, and I think I did say there were a few roads.

I've checked the tracklogs here with Maroc Topo and there are many that don't feature either there or most maps, unless you get your hands on the detailed ones.

You are correct in saying GPS track are difficult to collect, well here they are

If you want to compare further.....buy a CD, if not....

Gentlemans agreement....buy 1 ...copy it 4 times or so & sell on for £25 make huge profit...repeat. I give it a week before its on eBay
I'll give you a fiver and save you the trouble!

i and i hope no members would not copy those cd's as it's not in the spirit in which tim is supply'ing these cd's.
i would think his intent is to assist the buyers in there quest for adventure and enjoyment and not to sell for profit.and i'm sure other members would disscusted by someone profetting from these discs.
