Condensation in headlamp.

Has anyone seen this before. New bike, 200 miles, but got some condensation in the corner of the headlight.
Never had it with my previous GS’s.
Bike kept in dry garage.

Not unusual for any headlight, though don't recall seeing on my GS. Is this from overnight, or after a run or after having the lights on for a bit?

Lights were on for a while whilst tinkering in garage. Didn’t leave garage..
Phoned dealer and they said this was ‘normal’ and would disappear…

Take it back and demand a refund. Reject it. Call BMW head office and shout a bit here and there, Use threats. Tell them its rubbish and your mate said on UKgser, its a reject, friday afternoon bike.

Yes, that's what I was wondering - tremendous heat from the light, even for a relatively short time, given the current ambient weather = condensation.

Ask them would it pass an MOT with foggged headlights

It's a sealed unit, shouldn't have condensation

It was all fine today. The dealer said that it has a small breather hole which causes this but is only temporary. So all seems fine..

Used to have exactly the same with the streetpilot sat navs. A tiny hole to allow air pressure to balance, but did allow for condensation to build up on the inside of the screen in cold temperatures.

You bits of kids don't know what condensation is until you've had a KTM with TFT display.

That's happened quite bad on the wife's F900XR 2021. After riding in the rain, or having been washed, the condensation is quite a lot. Took it back to the dealer who hosed around it and it steamed up, didn't clear within 30mins so reported back to BMW.
Now, we've had to take it back for a couple of days so the front end can be stripped back and left overnight. Not sure what that would tell them, but they have to go through the tick boxes and report back.

Apparently, they are not sealed units and have a breather hole in the back somewhere.

I can only assume they will replace the headlight, from a safety point of view.

Yes, my bike does it under certain weather conditions, I haven’t bothered telling the dealer yet, I don’t think it is an uncommon issue.
