confussion over arrow direction

Good evening all, I would like some advice please with regards of the fuel filter on the 1100 gs what i want to do is fix it externaly my problem is on the oilhead tec site it says the arrow on the filter must be facing forwards and on steptoes explanation and pics it clearly shows it facing backwards well come on then please tell me is it me backwards or the filter arrow, many thanks.

It might be facing backward, but the fuel flow is going throught it the in the right direction - i have a loop in the fuel line, so it might look like it's facing the wrong direction, but it isn't - it's the direction that the fuel flows that important, so it doesn't matter what it might look like.

But i really wouldn't bother moving the filter outside. I'm putting mine back in the tank the next time the tank is off.
