Just got all kitted up for a ride out up north. Started fine, rode 300 yards and it died. Press starter, wouldnt start.

Turn ignition off and on, she started, rode 2 yards, conked out, press starter and she started straight away rode 5 yards she conked out.

Once more, 2 yards conked out. Turned bike around, pointed to home, fired her up and she was fine !!

BMW Assist en route, glad am still under warranty.

She didn't really feel under powered, no warning lights at all.

I am not going to guess what it is but dare say the symptoms sound familiar to some of you ?

does sound like it, good news is BMW Assist carry them as spares and even the car mechanics know how to fit them.

Still piss poor

But I am still reassured that I belong to a top marque with support services to match !!

I am of the opinion that its broken down, lets get it fixed and get on with the journey.

Just glad I am in the UK that's all.

'tis the right attitude to take last time I had the FPC go it rolled to a stop outside a lovely country pub in Cornwall at lunchtime :)

Anyway, stealing a phrase from another top marque, you haven't broken down, you've just "failed to proceed" :)

Love that Phrase :clap

FPC doodah was replaced and I was mobile for 3pm and in Sheffield before 5pm with no further problems.

Nice one BMW Assist. :thumb2

No I didnt but the recovery man said it looked ok on the surface, he put the new one in mainly on my diagnosis and the information I had gleaned from UKGSers. :thumb2

Had no problems since so it was obviously the cause.

I have since had a product enhancement notification letter suggesting I get my bike booked in for a replacement.
