Connected ride and iOS app question

Hi all. I am tearing my hair out trying to get the CR working as I expect it should with my phone. I have a suspicion what I expect ain’t the way it works but hoping someone can help! I can connect the device to my phone by going to the hub and pairing. Contacts etc get uploaded fine so it’s there. But when I open the app on my phone it’s still saying I need to connect to the bike? I want to upload a gpx file to the nav but right now I can’t even see how the app works with the device in any way? What am I missing?

Is the navigator mounted on the bike and all powered up when you try this?

It should connect up automatically - you’ll get a white square on your TFT when this happens. Once you’ve connected it for the first time, it just recognises the bike when you connect your phone via the Bluetooth.

It’s sorted now after starting from scratch. Just not very intuitive!
