Question on wear. I put a pair on my 990 just before I chopped it in having used the original Conti Trail Attacks for a few pairs and have the Trail Attack 2s on my 1190. So as I've not yet worn a set out my question is do they tend to wear evenly through the range i.e. if they wear at 1.5mm/1000 miles for the first half to the tyre's life do they wear at a similar rate thereafter? Tourances, which I used on my GS's, always wore note quickly as the tyre wore if you see what I mean. I ask as I have a 2 1/5 thousand mile trip coming up then a few weeks later a longer trip and I'm trying to work out if the tyre I have on will do the 2 1/2 thousand miles. If I change it it means i'll have to pop another new one on for my next trip due to the combined miles, if I leave this one on and it gets round it saves me swapping part worn tyres around which seems to be a perennial pastime of mine. Fortunately I change my own tyres and have some new ones in my workshop.

I bit of a ramble but hopefully you get the gist.

Have 4500 miles on mine on the gs and loads of tread left and not to badly squared.

I've done 4,000 on mine, they are just over half worn and if Tourances are a benchmark the second half will disappear much faster than the first half. So anybody any idea how they wear for the life of the tyre? Thinking for the sake of changing a tyre I'll bang a new one on and finish the current one off at a later date then not spend the last 500 miles of my trip thinking "I wish I'd changed that tyre".

I got circa 6k out of a Conti trail attack 2 rear on my 1190A (used mainly for commuting), by which time the handling was noticeably impeded if that helps at all...

thats what i did before my trip ,

I had Road Attacks on a previous bike. They were fab for about 50% tread but the rear squared off badly and handing went off a cliff. How do a Trail Attacks compare in terms of maintaining tyre profile.

Thanks for the replies folks in the end I just put the new one on and I'll put the other back on at a later date.

10000 MILES before I moved over to the Tourance next, (no optionbest of available due to rather nasty nail) still had about 1k left in them, however, they were wearing uneven on the back,

I have a pair on Conti trail attack 2's that I'm about to list on the forum. New last month and have less than 500 miles on them.

Not sure if they are your size at 150/70 R17 and 110/80 R19.
