Just bought a pair of Conti Trail attack tyres, the fitter said pressure should be 36F and 42R for one or two up.
This seems a bit hard.
Anyone with them got some user recommendations.
Solo and two up.
Cheers

I checked these online with Continental for the Trail Attacks and got 2.2 / 2.5 Bar solo (32 / 36 psi). This is the same as the manual for my 05 GS and works OK in practice.

A different bit of Continental's web site shows 2.3 / 2.5 Bar solo (33 / 36 psi).

I did find 2 up figures before, but they seem to have changed the site now and can't see them readily.

36 / 42 matches BMW's recomendation for 2 up in the manual.

I ran other tyres, including Conti Road Attacks, at 2.5/2.9 (36/42) all the time and they were fine.

But the Trail Attacks seem a tiny bit skittish at those pressures one up, so after a bit of experimentation I have reverted to 2.3/2.5 and they're fine.

My experience with most of the adventure tyres, is that they're all pretty hard on the road at the standard 36/42. I've not spoken with any of the reps, but by the feel of them, i'd lay money that they have (being an adventure tyre) a beefier side wall / carcass.

I found that the rear in particular would skip and chatter out of a corner if I was really trying, and if i softened the suspension off a tad, it still happened, but now the bike would wallow too.

Dropping the pressures was the answer.

Having played with Tourances, Trail attacks and now Annakees, I've found this in all of them.

You'll get a much better feel at something like 34/32 .. 40/38

I've run only Conti Trail Attacks since 2009 and now on my 4th pair.

I've run with the front anywhere between 2.1 - 2.7 bar and rear 2.3 - 2.9 bar both two up and one up.

To be honest apart from being a little less forgiving at the higher pressures, it has made sod all difference.

It's just a confidence thing with most peeps.

Personally I would drop the pressure by 10% if doing a track day or riding hard in hot weather but apart from that I just can't be arsed and stick to around 2.3 front and 2.7 rear.... Give or take .2 bar
