Just got back from a blustery ride to the MOT testing station (not been to one in years as ive always had fairly new bikes)

a very nice man there 'advised me' that my headlamp is a continental one and the deflector is on the wrong side......
he very kindly put some red sticky tape on the headlamp to rectify the problem and also the co-ordiante with the paintwork....

now...ive been officially told i should get it sorted for UK roads.....

whay should i do
A) buy a new headlamp
B) get my sister to send me a euro deflector from holland and ride round with is stuck on my headlamp
C) none of the above??

Did you buy the bike privatley or from a dealer??

if it was from a dealer they sold like and get them to sort it .

(I am of course assuming you cant adjust the dip ala 1150)

or try motorworks for a new light

bought it privately in full knowledge that it was imported from germany in 1997 and registered over here......

looks like a trip to the for sale and wanted forum.....

But on a serious note…why don’t you just borrow a headlight of someone just for the test or fit a Touratech twin set (but they point to the wrong side too)

Mrs Matron - i think you only need the glass for the headlamp.
- thats what 'bends' the beam left or right.

The reflector and bulb should be the same.

I can't see a new glass being 'that' much ?

Try sherlocks and the usual places - then a dealer near you......
