Conversion from 1150 double seat to 1150 adv single seat... parts and advice wanted

I want to turn my standard 1150 gs into Adventure type single seat and rack. I know a few people on here have done it, and can probably please list all the bits I need please. If anyone has/knows of all the bits and wants to sell, then please PM me. If not, perhaps someone has all the part numbers.

For those that have done it. Does it affect panniers mountings? I have a set of Vern's worldbeaters, and want them to go back on, and am hoping I don't need to do any alterations?

Its an easy swap, will not affect your panniers, most change the other way, I did, but will be keeping the parts for when I sell the bike.

I want to do just that Gadget i.e; convert my GSA seat/subframe to double seat GS but im unsure how many bits I need. Thinking about swapping with you Will but I need to think about resale value so as with you its probably best if I just try and get hold of the bits I need!

Hi Gazz.

Considered swap too, but would prefer to keep my bits in case i ever want to swap back, but not sure I would. Suppose we could do a swap on the understanding if either sold, then we had to swap back prior? I'm not intending to sell mine for years! what colour's your seat?

Its black and yellow. I dont intend to sell mine yet but you never know......
Probably best to obtain the parts and keep originals.

Got my seat; got my rack; now just need the list of what other little bits n' bobs are needed. I've done a search on here, but can't find a list for none adv. to adv route.

Would appreciate if someone could give me the list of bits so I only need one trip to Pidcocks!

Front seat mount.
Locking mechanism, including cable and under seat bar.
Rear mounts for the locking mechanism.
Various small clips etc.


But surely the bmw dealer will have all the parts needed on his parts computer
