Converting a 2006 GS into a trike?

I would love to own a trike or an outfit, but I wouldn't convert my only bike, particularly if it was irreversible.

If you have another bike then go for it, but triking your only ride is something that you are likely to regret when you get to the first traffic jam or mountain pass. However, having crossed paths in the past, I suspect that the challenge of working out how to convert between 2 and 3 wheels wouldn't necessarily put you off :D

Mmmmm

Mmmm, serious opinions from both ends of the table!

Will I still do it? yes, because if I don`t I might regret it.

When I finally go to that vinyard in the sky I will never regret the things I did, rather I will regret the things I never did!

Or do I buy a ready made one like the Grinall thingymajig?

:bounce1

Trikes

There is and always has been one proper" Trike" a Morgan Areo with a JAP (no not Honda!) engine!!.

I don't really get trikes either but if we all liked the same thing it'd be a less interesting life......I like this though;)

Sidecars - the things of the devil

Well there`s a great display of how people see different things as good or bad as, personally, I would rather self harm and/or eat my own spleen than ride a bike with a side car on it - though, to be fair, they possibly are great and have a big following!

Funny old game, life.

But it does seem, regarding trikes, you either love them or hate them!

I do not know how it works but surley they trike once converted cannot be on the same log book as the origional bike and must have to go through some sort of safety MOT type thing to get re registered??

So on that theory why not buy a cheap written off bike that has rear end damage, there must be plenty about and use that, surley the final drive would not be used on the trike or would it.

Just a thought as that way you get to keep your lovely bike but still get to build a trike

Ta Spike a very good suggestion and possibly there are some other forum members who could possibly express an opinion about the legalities of it all?

And yes I take your point, the more I look at my lovely GS the more I wanna keep it and go out and buy one of those `wing trikes.............
