Converting Lat/Lon to British National Grid?

The Quest offers multiple formats for display. Most of them mean bugger all to me but when I was in France I looked at them all to find one that matched the French reference system on the detailed maps I had for walking.

The Quest is still set to "UTM/UPS Grid" & Datum="WGS84" so I guess it was that one.

Other options include Taiwan grid, US National grid, British National Grid, Dutch Grid and about 40 others. You'll find it under "settings/units/location format".

Cheers

Dick

can someone just confirm the points in all the above posts before i buy a 2610

1) can i enter points in mapsource as Ordnance Survey co-ordinates?

2) Can mapsource change the datum on the 2610, so that it will show the position on the 2610 as OS co-ordinates? Or does mapsource convert the OS co-ords to Lat/long and then show this on the 2610?

Thanks in advance

1) Yes, once you have changed Position preferences to British National Grid.

2) The latter - when I am setting up Waypoints from an OS map I'll name them e.g. SU123456 and set the position to be SU 12300 45600
