Anyone know how I can convert OS grid ref's to Lat/Long so I can make a way point?

Or bterr still (i.e. lazier still) anyone know how to convert O.S. Grid reference: SU 303 034 to a lat/long - going camping here this w/e.... if I can find it.

Cheers Oh Masters of Co-ordinates!

I assume you mean in MapSource?

Edit -> Preferences -> Position -> Change the "Grid" option to "British National Grid"

Then Edit -> New waypoint -> type the grid reference into the "Position" box.

It's somewhere near Bornemouth :D

Actually it's not that near Bournemouth.

I made a mistake typing in the coordinates, which you have to look out for.

The OS National Grid references are actually 5 figures long in their full form, and MapSource doesn't allow you to type in the (more commonly used I think) 3 figure version.

So you have to type "SU 30300 03400"

Looks like it's actually Brockenhurst, there's a couple of fords there (my speciality) you should go and check them out! :D

Dear Mr Mouse,

I am delighted to inform yo uof your recent promotion. You have been promoted from "Scholar" to "Professor", which carries the usual rewards and responsibilities associated with that post.

Yours Gratefully,

Markie...I've stayed on that camp site quite a few times and it's a very nice place.....good facilities and lots of pitches.

Just be careful not to go too near the railway line or you'll be woken up by the early mornng London Express

DAMHIK ;)

PS if you'vegot kids thake their fishing nets...there's a shallow stream right by the site to paddle in and chase minnows around :D

Sometimes I am truely stunned by the wealth of information on here. Taking nets to go camping? Who would have thought! And yes, it's Holland Park.

Amazing.

Mark
