Cool Cover

There is a bit of an issue with things as I found this morning after a night of thunderstorms and heavy rain over my Dolomites campsite, namely that it is a lot harder to dry off than the bare seat.

It is not that material absorbs water, it doesn't, but is a web of plastic filiments to which water clings. About the only thing you can do is take it off and shake it vigorously, but you might still get a damp rear. I left mine off today, so will be able to say whether it makes much difference to comfort.

that's evaporative cooling at work...

Found the exact same thing on Ali Express for £26  Exact same advert with same pics, just goes to show you eh ?

In the computer world, it is called copy and paste, does not mean articles are the same but possibly are, just that they could not be arsed to do any graphics or text work......

A bit late in the day but ... having read this thread i ordered a set of the cheap Chinese covers. They arrived promptly and they seem well-enough made and fit fine. I cannot decide on whether to keep them fitted or not though; yes they definitely provide a flow of cool air under the seat but they are a hard slippery material and I keep sliding into the tank which is irritating and I am not sure about comfort over a very long day. Also, there is a small but definite increase in standover height due to the additional thickness of the cover to both the top and sides of the seat, probably nearly a cm overall, which being a shortie is noticeable. Just my views for what they are worth.

Just put your seat high at the front and low back, no slipping.........:rob

Right, got my cool covers but which one goes where :nenau There is one that has Velcro front to back, and one has front to back and side to side, which is which please :blast:doris:D

I have mine like below, seems to make sense, if it is correct, as if you put the 2 velcro straps that criss cross each other, on the rear seat, it touches that black knobbly bit that goes into the bike, mine is a tall seat so really snug on fitting.

I agree with that, however mine were a better fit the other way round. Iv'e just changed them to be like yours, and the back seat doesnt fit quite so well as it did the other way round. Och well, will just leave it the same way you have it. I dont carry pillions anyway so doesnt matter much.

Anyway i tried them with a short 25 mile run and they seem to work ok keeping my family allowance cool with a flow of fresh air :green gri:D

Just play around with the front and back of the materiel until you have found the best setting for you, not saying mine is the correct way, but I did not want the velcro running across the knobbly bit on the rear and jamming the seat in....;)

Yeah well i took a look at that and the velcro is no where near it as the seat sits quite high on the rubbers. Im thinking i might change mine again because they just dont look right, they looked far better and indeed fitted better the way i had them before. I will wait n see what others have done with theirs first.:thumb:D

This is them when first fitted.

I had them the other way round for ages, gave no problems but my OCD kicked in and I swapped them over.............:blast

Smogbob - I've tried that but it makes the bike uncomfortably tall; I did say I was a shortie!

I have mine fitted with the piece with 2 straps on the front and it seems to look right on the bike although I suspect that they can be made to fit either way around.

Yes it does seem to be a little taller than before. I'm what is called vertically challenged with only 28in inseems but i seem to manage. I rode a GSA for three and a half years and it was the only bike i didnt drop  however careful attention had to be used all the time when stopping. :blast:D

Only one solution I am afraid............
