Coolant hose return blowing

Hi
My coolant return hose keeps blowing off, but only when the bike is ticking over or just stopped.
No oil in the water.
Way too much pressure as it has now spilt.
could this only be due to a dodgy rad cap, or should i look for something else?

If ...

... it's an early bike then I believe it was subject to a recall because the original hose as fitted was too short; I'd sort that before looking to deeply for another reason

Ring your nearest BMW dealer with the VIN number and they should be able to tell you if your bike has been 'upgraded'.

The coolant hose was redesigned, but somebikes still had aproblem ... mine for example. I was given another water pump cover under warranty. I think the only difference was they didn't have paint on the spigot where the hose goes.

So ... summary ... get the newer hose, remove paint from water pump cover outlet, use jubilee hose clamp (which you check occassionaly for tightness), enjoy riding your bike without hose issue!
