Cooper BMW Sunderland- 'sorry to have disturbed you'

The guy commented upon service which he didn't agree with.

One of Colins' very first posts after joining this forum is to slag off a dealer who can't respond on here.I'm afraid,to me,it seems like a form of bullying, knowing that the dealer in their professional capacity can't enter a slanging match on a public forum...

Maybe the guy did get poor service, but there are 2 sides to every story. Why not just 'vote with your feet' rather than slander a dealer who seems to have a good, strong and happy customer base(judging by some of the other customers comments).:nenau

I think slagging off is a very strong term for his post. Dealers do seem to get involved as well on here, some very successfully.
There are indeed two sides to every story and many people after your post were able to offer good points for the dealer in question, which is great, that means the intelligent customer can read two sides of a debate and make their own mind up. Didnt see many of the ones offering recommendations slagging the poor bloke off though.
Most people can understand others feelings when they feel hard done by but like to put up an alternative story if their dealings have been positive in the past, unlike yourself who didnt seem to have anything positive to offer.

to true just because some people are new to the forum does not mean that they should be abused in such a manner , we all have good and bad tails to tell ,
free speech and all that .

the moderators who are not dealers should have stopped the seemingly witch hunt.
poor colin what must he think of us @ gser

I too, have criticized my local dealer, for reasons too boring to go into again, does that make me a bully??

In my opinion I was messed around and treated like an idiot.

On here was my way to let off steam, although I also did so directly.

I have worked for three major car dealerships in my life and now run my own business, so I believe I know how to talk to and treat dealers with due respect.
Did it work? not at all, sometimes people are just unreasonable.

Colin is entitled to his opinion and then can vote with his feet, if he wishes.
At the same time, I would have nothing but respect for the dealer if they responded with something along the lines of:

"Dear Colin, I'm alarmed to hear of your negative experience in our dealership, please contact us to discuss this matter"

That's how I treat my customers in the first instance, I seem to remember Darren at Vines and Paul at Bahnstormers doing this very thing???

If I read a post criticising either of my favourite two UK dealers, I would respond, as some already have, with my positive experiences, without passing judgement on the accuser.

One should not pick sides when one is not in possession of all the facts.

Just my two pence worth.............

In the interests of balance, I have to say, the least you can do when given a loan or test bike, is to return it clean with at least the same fuel level, if not a full tank.
Just my opinion, of course:)

I went into Coopers yesterday, not having read this thread I might add. So am pretty un biased. I was approached fairly quickly and asked if I needed help, I didn't at that particular time. Later on when I wanted help I asked the same guy, Ian, who sat me down and brought me a coffee, he was very pleasant and helpful I was after a new 12GSA but we couldn't agree on a price, this happens and is not a problem to me. I would have no problem in going back..... maybe next time we could reach a deal.
