Cooper Sunderland's refurbishment

Conversely I found BMW Customer service to be the worst I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.* So much so I'll not be buying another one.

*Except Garmin.

I live about 8 miles from Coopers
I do all business with Allan Jeffries, 100 mikes away
Years ago I arranged a test ride, in advance, me n Mrs F both arranged a day off
We turned up early for a test ride.
Oops that bike has been given out as a courtesy bike
Travelled to M&S , they had a nice used 1100S on the floor, less than 600 miles on the clock
Tested straight away and bought that day.
I then went back years later looking to do a part ex
One of the " don't last long here" sales guys offered me a great deal
I give them my mint 1200RT SE and they give me a bike with the same mileage, and a similar age, as a straight swap. They didn't want any cash off me!
They were giving me an F800S !!
Great deal eh ?

Had the bike serviced there, the parts department are excellent, may take a day or two to get some parts, but they are very helpful .
Paul Sherman is a top class bloke, goes out of his way to help.

Sales folk could be so much better. Overall never had any problems with them.

They are back in the main building but it still looks like a building site:eek

But for old tossers an escalator is being fitted to save your old legs:rob

No opening curry .......yet:toungincheek

Just had the bike serviced this Wednesday.

Previously.

1/Picked up new bike (ex demo). By the time I'd rode it home the tax disc holder had come loose, scraping paint off the fork leg. Checked bike over and the chain was so tight you could play a tune on it. Not a happy bunny and said so when their customer service people rang up to check if everything was ok with the new bike. Was promised a good deal on my next service to make it up to me.

2/ First year service. No record of promise to make it up to me. To be fair after repeating the tale a good discount was given on the service cost.
"Your service book is under the saddle" was the reply when I asked for the stamped book. No it wasn't when I looked under the saddle when I arrived back at home.:blast A week or so later when I called in to the showroom it was found lying on one of the office desks. No attempt had been made to trace the owner of said service book left lying on the desk.
I had to chase them.

3/ Bought a new bike(ex demo again) Yes ,I know I'm a slow learner.
By the time I'd rode it home , the tax disc holder had worked loose and scraped some paint of the lower fork clamp.:banghead: Shakes head in disbelief. At least the chain tension was fine.

4/ Back to this Wednesdays service. Have you worked out the pattern yet ?
"Your service book is under the saddle" was the reply when I asked for the stamped book. No it wasn't when I looked. I didn't wait till I got home this time, See I am learning. Much apologies but service department now closed , I'll sort it out tomorrow. Well tomorrow (ie today )came and went and no-one has been in touch so it looks like I'm going have to chase them again.:(

Think I'll leave it to next week , hopefully Paul will be back from his holiday and will sort it out for me.

Seriously though, if they can't get right basics such as : putting a tax disc holder on that doesn't work loose in less than 10 miles, adjusting a chain to the correct tension , and returning a stamped service record book back to the owner, it does make you wonder what else has been missed or not seen to correctly. Hey Ho

I use cooper for my cars. And couldn't want for better service
Service manager David ... Great bloke very efficient and helpful

Bike department.... What a set of cnuts. Ignorant the lot of them look at you like your a piece of shit on there shoe not helpful and treat you like your bothering hem
Daft cnuts little do they know next door I paid £60k cash for a new car
And would have bought a nearly new bike if they could be bothered to talk to me
Offered them cash if they could get me an hp2 ( the first one before they came out before any one liked them). Still haven't phoned me )

Did you ever get your HP2 ?

Well I got to say that coopers have been great and more than helpful
I know when there temporary building was up things were a bit tight and not very professional at all but now the new building is open (still under construction) things have changed for the better.....we were there last week for the 600mile service and they were more than helpful bringing us tea/coffee.
The guided tour of the new place sure does bring the BMW image back to the front where it should be.

Dalkeith is the place I travel to, 14hrs on a ferry and 2 hrs from Aberdeen passing BMW Dundee, who also have the bikes behind the Mini showroom.
Had 5 bikes from them and excellent service. Nothing is a bother, even bacon rolls while you wait. I usually stay at the County Hotel along the road.Always a bike to try out if I want to. :beerjug::rob

Then again - it can't be worse than Barrie Robson's ;)

Yes it can!

It could end up like Astles in Grimsby. Believe me, Barrie Robsons may be in an industrial unit, but it's far bigger than the space for motos at Astles!!

It's not the surroundings. I would be happy to do business over York's effluent outfall the morning after a real ale and curry festival if the service was good, but you don't normally see BR and good service in the same sentence ;)
