Hi - being new to the BMW bike game I am after a little advice.

My local dealer is on the North Farm Industrial Estate - Cooper Tunbridge Wells - and I recently visited them with a view to get a R1200GS in the near future. I was impressed with the showroom and the friendly welcome, and the fact they are offering what seems like good deals on R1200GS`s.

Has anyone had any dealings with them - good or bad - as I dont want to spend my money where I will not be appreciated. I am not looking to be waited on hand and foot, but treated fairly.

Had my brakes done before I went to the IoM this year. Wasn't too shocked by the price and they did a good job. I guess this is so as the brakes worked and still do.

They are pretty good with the coffee and a look round the workshop at the shiny tools etc. It was summer when I was there but the tables out front are still draghty, so stay inside and have a doss!

Picked my GSA up from there 1st Sept. Dropped back in last Friday to book in for it's 6k service. Really friendly guys, Remembered my name etc etc, coffee on tap and a nice dealership to visit. (there;s a guy on service reception who's the spitting image of Matt Lucas with hair!)

They were good enough to sort me out some test rides on an RT and a GS. Seemed a decent bunch.

I think they might sting you on the 600mile service, so make sure you negotiate something in the deal.

In fairness my 600 mile service was about £48 and I had the use of a K1200R for the day free of charge,

When they do my 6k service next Friday I'm trying to get them to replace the battery (it's a 1200 so it's barely starting in the morning) and a new number plate as the back is starting to peel off of the one they supplied with the bike from new (12 weeks ago)
We'll see how friendly I feel if I have to start fighting them!

I've had nothing but good dealings with them.

Thay are very pleasant and remember your name, etc.
just had my 18k service there, got loaner no problem for the day.

I bought my 04 GS form another dealer, had to have the engine cover and gearbox seal done under warranty(both pointed out my a technician from Coopers). I am having the left hand control switches replaced when it arrives, also under warranty.

As said before it is an impressive showroom and workshop.

Theres a great independant, for servicing and any other work, ex bm mechanic in nearby pembury as well Brian Giles. Do a search on him here, rave reviews, i always use him, top man.

I know the guy you are on about - its spooky how much he looks like Matt Lucas - "the only gay in the dealership".

Sounds like there are a few of you with good things to say about the guys in Tunbridge.

Is it worth waiting for the 2008 R1200GS or does low rate finance with panniers on a new 2007 R1200GS seem a good deal?

Crikey that doesn't sound like the dealership I know. The guy I bought my bike from no longer works there but I'm surprised they are not in a position to do a deal with you (unless of course your looking for a spectacular deal that only the sales manager could sigh off on)

they could'nt quote me any price other than list without him there
finaly got a firm price today but if i go north theres a lot more to be had, bit dissapointed but there you go

In the interests of fairness, they redeemed themselves with a healthy discount on the price because of their delays.

O'h alarm bells ringing here then.
I am at the mo trying to do a deal , cost for GSA and my extra's is £11.5 K, there have overed £200 off only. Best I give Park Lane a ring , if they do not come down anymore.
