I would be quick to post on here if I had a bad experience at a dealer, so only right that I post when I have a good experience.

Just rode up to Coopers today to see if they had any tank bags, never been there before and was expecting a few new bikes and limited goodies, infact didn't really think they would have what I wanted.

What a nice surprise, spacious showroom, loads of bikes, loads of gear, including tank bags for MK1 and MK2 1200GS.

Really helpful, couldn't do enough for me, I must have been there an hour trying different bags and pondering different solutions for my requirements, with assistance whenever it was needed.

Refreshments were, of course, provided.

Well done Coopers.

Nice one! They are my local dealer, and i rate them highly. Always go the extra mile and well informed. If you are looking for a new bike speak to Elle. Top lass! :thumb

Bought my BMW 800 from there, and to be honest I put the guys under quite a lot of pressure as i turned up and wanted it all done there and then. When they discovered that my finance company were starting to take the piss (advantage finance) they realised it wasnt gonna be, lent me a GS1200 to go home on. They didnt have to but they did!!. Also got me a good deal on a brand new low seat, much below what i should have paid for it. They are not exactly local to me, about 55 miles and a quick blast round the M25, but I seriously intend to go back there if I need anything else, like say for example, ooh i dunno, say maybe a GS1200, in the next week or so......800 is low 200 miles, everything on it, grey, oh and for sale, lol, and its a 58 plate......

Good dealer, good stock levels. Matthew Palmer in service is helpful.

Because I'm not on the doorstep of any dealer I tend to drop in to a few when I'm in their area, and things are looking up, I think they are all quite good. This certainly wasn't the case a couple of years ago.

How much were the tank bags?

I've just been there for a new clutch. OK, it was expensive, but the courtesy bike was a big plus - brand spankers GS1200. Also, they quoted me a price for the clutch, which they stuck to, even though they spent extra time fixing an oil leak as well. Matthew in service is indeed a good bloke. I'd use them again, and I'm a right grumpy git who's easily pissed off if things aren't just right.

Another good/bad experience

I spent a happy 45 minutes trying on various textile clothing at Coopers with a very helpful chap (didn't get his name). I left with a Streetguard 3 suit. It works very well: warm, comfortable, and as I hit the tarmac at the roundabout A272/A275 junction at North Chailey 20 minutes later,:blast I found it saved me from serious injury!
I now have to explain to my wife about the £700 I have just spent, and why I am limping! Bugger.

There's another R1200GS tank bag there as well, priced about £85 (from memory). Smaller--the other one is a big bugger--with space for phone/MP3 player.

I popped in there yesterday for one of these. Its nice to see a BMW dealer with tankbags etc in stock so you can have a look before buying.
