Copy / Paste Images Mac

I think Safari has its own snipping tool. I'm pretty sure I saw the icon for it in the "customise toolbar" options the other day.

It does for safari but not so capable as far as I can see for copying from any application or just your desktop with options of selecting saved file type etc,

Start typing your post on here, then open a new tab and find the image you want > right click on that image > copy image address > go back to your post on here and place cursor where you want image to appear > Click on the insert image icon (see image below with red arrow) > right click in the box > click ok.

Another way instead of clicking on the image icon is to simply right click & paste the image details in your post, but type
after it > submit your post. Easy peavy lemon squeezy.

Different problem for me.

When emailing a photo I don't seem to be able to cut and paste from iPhoto to Mail. All it pastes is a file reference.

I'm having to use the attachment icon on the draft email to get the photo.

Any ideas?

So what do you do if the image/photo you want to post is sitting in iPhoto or on your Desktop/Finder? I can use the "Open with" command and open it in Safari say. And there I can indeed right click and get the "Copy Address" but if I use that "address" with the "Insert image" tool in the post, it just gives me the file name and location on my computer

The 'insert image' tool allows you to add a reference to an image file somewhere on the internet.
If you want to insert an image file from your computer you need to use 'Manage Attachments' and upload the file from your computer to the forum.

try dragging it out of iphoto to Mail. if that doesn't work drag to the desktop, then to Mail. or there is a toolbar email option in iphoto IIRC.

Thanks for that, I will give that a go.

Go to the image in iphoto and click 'Share' icon which should open Mail and add it to your email.

Correct. Or upload it to a website such as Photobucket where it will be given an image reference code that you can then use.

Just choose the blank template, which is just normal Mail. The email will be saved in your 'Sent' folder.

The blank template tries to make you put titles on each photo and doesn't save to sent folder. I also seems to create larger file size mails.

I'm having to create an email and then click attachments - photos and then find what I'm trying to send.

I feel one of the better options is to copy the image manually. It will also resize a larger image as it auto sizes for screenshots.

Press and hold 'cmd-shift-4' and the cursor will change to cross hairs. Line the cross hairs to a corner of an image where you wish to start copying, 'click' and drag diagonally to complete the square to capture the image. You'll hear a camera shutter, and job done - snapshot to desktop.

You now have a smaller file size to attach in your post/s.

Bloody hell, I've been using Macs for years and never knew that.:thumb2

Try this...

In iPhoto highlight the images you want to email...

Click on the 'Share' button, and select 'Mail'. Ensure you choose the 'Classic' option. Type your text in the box above the image and click Send.

Open up Mail and click on your Sent folder and the email you've just sent will be there.
