Folks,

I've read quite a lot of the threads about Sargent, Corbin, etc seats and will most likely give the Corbin a try on my 2006 R1200GS. The question I have is in relation to the seat height, or more importantly the width of the Corbin and height together.

I currently have a BMW Low seat as I like to have both feet on the floor. The Corbin seat at 32" appears to be the similar height, but I know its probably wider, so the effect will be to force you further onto tippy-toes.

Those of you that have the seat and possibly did a similar mod of moving from the BMW low, I'd appreciate your constructive comments and thoughts on the Corbin seat and also feedback on what it's like whilst riding the bike in terms of the seat position in relation to footrest and handlebars - leg bend to pegs and arm reach to bars.

Much appreciated.

Re Corbin seat

I bought a Corbin seat off this site, and your right it is WIDE. So wide I couldn't get my little legs to touch the ground with any confidence. I have a low sargent seat and it's fine.

Cheers N1Rat.

Anyone else help ?

Its quite easy to shave some off the sides, any decent upholsterer can do it quite cheaply, the result is the comfort stays the same, but you can reach the ground as your legs are not spread quite so wide............:beerjug:

I can't think of one reason to recommend a Corbin over a Sargent. I previously had a Corbin on my VFR800, I've ridden with a Corbin on an R1200GS in the USA and I currently have a low Sargent seat on my current GS.

Get a Sargent. :rob
