I'm looking at sponsoring bikes that are using the Cork-Swansea Fastnet Ferry, so that there's a discounted rate for anyone riding across.
But before I do, any of you used it yet?

Any reports, good/bad/indifferent?

Already got 10% discount for a one off in June...details to follow, but this would be a more long term thing.

Cheers.

One of the lads at work went on the first sailing from Cork, the ship was supposed to go on the two previous Saturdays but due to technical difficulties did not sale, first cancellation the gave him half price on another sailing during the year, 2nd cancellation they offered him a full price sailing during the year instead, when they eventually left Cork there was a 6 hr delay in berthing, they issued no apology and gave no snacks, tea/coffee etc, said food on board was very expensive and next time he'd be bringing sandwiches along

Bring on the Cork Spain ferry

I'd be interested if these were teething troubles, or something more serious?

If it's the latter, it may be something I wont want to be associated with long term and may restrict involvement to when we have event here in Ystradgynlais, near Swansea.

Fasnet Ferry cork

So here's the thing.

I rang Fastnet and asked if we could offer a discount to anyone travelling over for our Touratech Travel Event on 4th-6th June (which I see is a Bank Hols for you guys).

They've said yes, there's a 10% discount if you book following this address:

[email protected]

So, if we are to extend this, then I'll need to hear how you got on with your 18 bike journey.
If you've not booked already, perhaps you could try and see what happens?

Please keep me updated. Thanks.

Fasnet Ferry cork

yes that was the max discount we could wangle out of them
as most of us live in cork , it should suit .

What Touratech event is coming to cork in early June ?

pg

If only it was in Cork, although that's an interesting idea...mmmmmm!

The Travel Event is in Ystradgynlais near Swansea. I've spoken to Fastnet Ferries to see if we can get a discount for you guys to come across and visit us on 4th-6th June.

We don't currently have a TT in Ireland and because of the euro/pound thing have to put you guys in touch with the German HQ.
You can of course come over and buy stuff in our shop, then take it back.

The Travel Event would be an ideal opportunity to visit, as it should be a great meet up.

Oh and we are tentatively putting out feelers to see if there's anyone in Ireland that we can look at setting up an outlet with.

I'm taking Swansea Cork for the Enniskillen HUBB at the end of May - will let you know.

Got to be better than the old one, which was dire in the extreme.

It's attractive as the timings are good and you can leave Cardiff at 7pm and be in Ring of Kerry for coffee next morning - hopefully having had a good night's sleep.

No doubt the bar will be full of braying golf-twats in pringle and M&S, pretending they still have a life!

I'm going to the HUBB thing too. I'll know not to wear my pringle jacket now though. I must book.

What day are you setting off Blade?

Wednesday night ferry.

Plan Thursday ride west to Kerry & Dingle then up to a camp site Galway way before Enniskillen Friday. Back Holyhead midday Monday.

I'm with a chap called Francis who is a professional clown & tight rope walker!! Interesting bloke.

You are welcome to join the craig.

Blade, see you at the Ferry. Just booked.

I'll be on the Tourateched up 1200 I think. I can't use my 1150 GS and get any company support, so I'll look "distinctive" even without the pringle!
Just look for all the Xenons.

KEWL!

I'm on a silver 1150 GSA with metal mule panniers and baglux tank bag, probably with grey 'stich - Francis is on '09 red 1200GSA probably with full twat suit!

see you at port or in bar!

Have not seen the person in question for the past 2 weeks but will probably meet him on Monday
