my gs1100,is in pretty good nick for its age, (bit like its owner:augie)
apart from a bit of corrosion on the front engine cover and just underneath it:thedummy

I' d like to have a go at sorting this, but need to know where to source the suitable engine paint (colour and application suitable for engine use)
does the panel have any info that could help?
I suppose there is a colour code somewhere on the bike that BWM would recognise, or is it a generic colour that can be found more cheaply elsewhere?

thank you:thumb

BMW dealers sell engine paint. The correct stuff apparantly.:thumb2

As above +1
I used etch primer with the silver metal paint out of the screwfix catalogue pretty close match imho

thanks for the responses chaps, will contact local independant bwm mevchanic first to see if he has some of the right stuff!!
altho' this looks like a project for next winter, now
like the idea of doing the paint in situ as this cover has oily bits inside that are best left alone, as on a bike this old, when you touch stuff, it often needs even more work to sort than the original job!!
