Ok Tossers, someone must have tried this repair! The front of the engine cover on my 56 plate GS is getting a bit scabby and unsightly, I was wondering what is the best repair for this, if there is one, professional or not. Can it even be repair? Advice please lads......cheers in advance :beerjug:

Full instructions somewhere on the site with pics followed when I did mine
Would have better response if not opted in wasser head section me thinks

You got me worried there mark I thought your water cooled was corroding as its the wasser head section!!!

No, I can assure you they arrive with 0% corrosion. What happens downstream is a separate issue. :-)

Get part shot blasted, etch primed and powder coated. As that will show up the corrosion pits have it gently blasted over to flat the finish. Fill the pits and paint.

More hassle but powder is much more durable than paint. Plus the oven heat makes sure there is no moisture trapped under the finish.

For any cover that is not dowel located get it coated inside and out so corrosion doesnt creep under from the bare metal joint face.
