Some tell-tale signs of rust are appearing on the frame of my 9 month old 1200GS together with through the paint to the metal on the weld by the left footrest. Anyone else getting this and what have they done about it? Not good.

Lucky you haven't got an 1150, otherwise all sorts of bits would be furring up and flaking off by now! 
No corrosion (that I've spotted) on my one year old 1200 but I did have it waxed for the winter and have used ACF50 and Scottoiler FS365 fairly liberally. Its been rinsed down fairly often but hasn't had a really good wash all winter. Touch wood its holding up a lot better than my 1150 did.
In the past BM have been very good at replacing corroded parts under warranty - suggest you talk to your dealer.
