Corrupted power point file

Hi all,
A cry for help on behalf of SWMBO!
She has spent a lot of time on a presentation for a job interview in powerpoint and now it says that there is an error reading the file.
Been playing trying to open from any way I can but no joy.
Any suggestions gratefully received!!!

What version of Powerpoint was it? and is it a .ppt or .pptx file?

Tried that but no joy, 'no files to retrieve' apparently.
Its a pptx file.
Guess she will just have to start again

Does the file have a size? (look at properties)

If it does, there is at least data there...if there's data, it can be recovered.

Try opening it with something like Apache open office....It's free and it's recovered a couple of Excel files for me that the bloatware Microsoft original couldn't look at.

Also have a google on file recovery.......There are lots of freeware progs that might be able to help.
