Corsica - 11 routes - Petit fute

Thanks, will order that, I love corsica, spent a few summers based around Bonifacio, Rondinara, porto Vechio and Sardinia, preferred Corsica much less pretencious but never really got inland and its now high on the list !!

I have only been once and it peeeeeed down for two days out of four. As far as I could see, it was the only place in Europe where it was raining. My father, who was living in Provence at the time, asked me "What the hell is that noise?" when I phoned him. When I explained it was rain in August he thought I was joking as it was over 30c with him.

Nice place, just the same and it hasn't put me off.

Took a group there last year and it's definitely on my list of ones to return to.

However, if you like long fast sweepy roads, it probably isn't for you. Most of them (that we rode on in the 4 days we had on the island) were tight, nadgery twisty feckers which had me grinning like an idiot for most of the time I rode them. Knackering, but exhilarating.

Stunning countryside, very friendly people, we stayed in a nice hotel inland from Ajaccio which was good value.

Highly recommended, if a bit of a schlepp to get there because of the ferry crossing.

I have bought a copy of this book...

All in French but with some really nice pictures and what looks like excellent route advice. In a word or two: Nicely published. They do a very similar book on the RdeGA, which I already had.

One place I really want to return to. We went during October, beautiful weather but not toooooooo hot and the place was deserted - perfect :)

Just ordered the book too, cheers Wapping :beerjug:
