Costa Blanca weather today !!

I know you folks in the mother country havnt been having the kindest of weather lately but down here its the opposite. Been out for a short ride this morning and it was like being in a fan oven Call me a wuss but the bike was soon back in the garage and me under the shower. Just checked the temps, its 40c in the shade. The thermometer in the full sun only goes to 50 and its off the scale . Valencia news has raised the alert level to red and the forecast for the next few days is more of the same. Its damn hot down here so anyone heading this way get loads a fluids on board. Right im off to put me head in the fridge again

I ve packed my icebreaker long sleeved thermals for the Pyrenees next week just in case..

Would love to get 30C and sun, but mountains can be vicious even in summer....

Just got back from my place in Catalunya, 36C in the shade and 40C on the patio. Took the dirt bikes up into Els Ports 'mountains' and it was just about cool enough to wear the 'string vest' style body armour typically used for enduro's.
The advice on fluids is key..... if anyone is coming out this way I also suggest a daily intake of Vitamin 'B' Thiamin...it reduces the effect of bug bites....doesnt stop them biting but it does stop them swelling and going 'puss' filled.
