Anyone going to the 'grand opening' / 'launch' tomorrow 5/12/09?

I called in there a couple of days ago for a nose around..................hmmmmmmmm, the jurys still out:nenau

Had a chat with their sales guy Ben, he is keen for as many of us to go there for the free food and potential custom, BUT, more importantly to bend his MD's ear over as many issues that genuine bikers like us can come up with. Like the layout, parking etc.

I am a little sceptical about all the glitz and glamour, but may give them a go.(want the peace of mind with warranty issues when I buy my next bike):comfort

I know a lot on here are annoyed that BVM lost out, (so am I to a degree) but it seems that some of their staff have followed the franchise.

Yep, hoping to get there at some point during the morning. Bought my 650 from Bristol in April and they were ok but when i bought my system 6 they didnt seem that interested to tell you the truth. Seem to lack the Customer interaction.
Will see what glos are like as they are closer to me

Might see you there Buz,
Bought both of my GS's from Bristol, and parted with a fair amount of cash there since.
Depends what mood they're in as to what kind of service you get. Usually crap.
TBH I wont be putting my purchase of a new bike their way.

Chap who did my training had a 800 from Stroud, asked him if he would go back there and he said no, didnt get a very good service from them so I thought i'd go to Bristol instead, not much difference in travel for me. Perhaps looking back I should have checked both out, trouble is when you pass your test and want a bigger bike you cant wait :D
You live and learn

I'm hoping to stop by - should be there mid to late morning :thumb2

May get to see both of you there. Unfortunately I'll be in Landy as I have to run SWMBO around tomorrow, gotta get some browny points built up :augie

Yeah Buz, you do!!
There's a run down to Exmoor on Sunday, and being as you missed the last one...............................................:D:augie

Oh dear, I'm beginning to look like a right stick in the mud, Aint gonna be able to make anything this side of Christmas, i'm amazed you lot can.....I must be going wrong somewhere........ Think Sundays would be a bit far for me, i've an 80 mile round trip just to cover the Bristol bit of it....

Promise I will join you all in the New Year tho.....I will have built up mega browny points by then :thumb2 :D

Cotswold

I'll be there, !!
Called in for a nose around, spoke to the owner, and I found him to be very straight forward , biker focussed, and absolutely wanting to provide top service. Very honest in that he knows Mark, BVM is a very respected chap, I have been buying bikes and service from BVM from when they were in old premises in Stroud.
From a letter from BVM received today, BMW were insisting that the Motorrad be in Gloucester or Cheltenham, and Mark would have had to find £1.5 million (?) premises, and decided not to.
BVM are still going to supply BM's altho in talks with another (my pure guess KTM poss?)
Not sure about servicing equipment tho?
But the choice is still there, competition is always good for us, I believe.
Suck it and see.
Ps anyone around Gloucester on Fridays?, its my free day for a ride out if u want to join up?

Not a bad turn out, new S1000RR is nice.
Good to meet you GZZr.

Spoke with wife of owner Andy, sorry didn't get name. They are bike focused and really welcoming, open on a Sunday  That's a first around these parts:D

Cant say fairer than that.:thumb

Popped in about Midday, quite busy, not sure who was who there and all the staff busy chatting, so had a mooch around the bikes. Showed SWMBO the 'larger bikes' but seems the old 650 will still be enough for me for a while yet, she mentioned something about managing to come off the 650 so what would I do with a 1200 :blast :D

She has a point i guess :comfort

Buz, I was still there then, was that you with the carnation and a copy of the Times stood under the clock?

Mrs Buz might have a point, Size isnt everything.:augie

You saw me then, I was gonna wear a Tosser badge but thought that would make me look geeky. Oh yeah, it was really The Sport with a Times cover around it, funny but no-one came and spoke to me and SWMBO kept a wide berth! Perhaps I should have wore me speedo's :D

Couldn't miss you, me old beauty, The gauntlets and the silk scarf gave you away, no need for speedo's.
Oh by the way, taking photos of the MCN girls posing as a press photographer for the Sport didn't really cut the mustard IMHO.:D
