Buffalo is defo the way to go, had one of these for years, alot of the Forces buy em and when it's a squaddies own money it's gotta be good kit to beat spending it on 
Could anyone comment on this?

My wife has one for when is doing the garden to keep warm before she heats up naturallym, with all the digging and weeding or whatever she calls it....

Similar to the Buffalo
I bought the Klim PowerXross Jacket a few weeks back and have to say I'm really chuffed with it. It's similar to the buffalo minus the fluffy lining. Unlike the twat suit it's Gore tex on the outside and I layer up according to how cold it is outside. I usually have a thermal t-shirt, a fleece and sometimes my armless down jacket for when it's really digging into the minus's.
It has a big zip under the armpit running down to the bottom of the jacket on your left side and a pit zip on the right. The zips are sealed and windproof and I've worn it everyday since the dirt bike show a few weeks back.
Now I've just got to find a way of keeping my feet warm

cheap option...............
3ft X 1'6'' bubble wrap, cut hole for head in middle and drape over your chest under jacket/fleece. Insulates you from wind chill and keeps core temperature up. Not high fashion but it works!
