Coupes Moto Legende, Dijon, 26/27 May 2012

Looks interesting.

Jonathan & Andy went a few years ago and said it was a good weekend.

Ferry booked up, looks like I'm on me tod then!

I'm going! on the 6.50am train on Fri 25th. My lad Dan is coming too on his 1150.........hopefully he won't break down this time:blast
After it, we carry on down to Provence via Route Nap. then turn West. away for 10 days or so:JB

What you guys on?

I'm on a '77 Guzzi T3, ferry Hull-Zeebrugge Wed, down through the Ardennes with an overnight stop en route. Coming back via west of Paris to Dieppe for Newhaven ferry Tues.

Not camping, staying somewhere just south of Dijon.

86 800g/s or 76 le mans or 77 convert. one still in bits, two sans MOT so it's wide open at the moment. maybe even the modern GSA?

crossing to caen wednesday night, returning monday evening.

accommodation wide open too. normally stay in dijon but will be staying outside the city somewhere as yet undecided.

Just a tip from my experience ,organise accommodation before you go if you want to stay somewhere reasonably close by.

the onsite camping there was pretty dire when i first attended some 5 years or so ago.
i put my tent up, but then got a call from a mate with room in a dijon hotel. i bailed and was glad i did.

also, it gets pretty muddy there when it rains, which it generally does at some point.

i'll probably try and sort accommodation tomorrow. i'm not fussed about being in dijon, or that close.

The year I went I spoke to some guys that were camping and they said it was awful , no facilities whatsoever and the froggies were partying till dawn making one hell of a row. They packed up after one night and went elsewhere.

how right you are. just booked a hotel. took hours to find one and could not be said to be close by.

on the positive side, it does look a nice road in :)

Booked mine in Feb but even then was toiling to get anywhere close by, not helped by being Billy-no-mates on my tod.

Ended up with Hotel Hermes in Couchey which is about 15 miles south of circuit.

Let's hope for some decent weather, it's been poxy up here the last while :D

For any bods going in the future.

If there is a bunch of you going, it may be worthwhile (and quite cheap) to hire a gite between you all. There may well be a pretty good selection around the region and (for sure) plenty of good roads to ride if you wanted to take a longer break.

Gite de France are the bods to contact. Very helpful on the phone and speak first class English. Alternatively, try the local tourist office, who are very useful too.
