Cracked at the accross the weld

There I was having a fag , and there it was , a bloody great big crack well about an inch both sides of the weld at the engine bar mounting point!!!!!

Never been dropped , never been used as a ladder WTF!


Would this be covered under warrenty as its under 2 years old ?

But, I get your drift on the weld defect as I have the same on mine on the right side crash bar lug. Keep meaning to take it apart and have it rewelded.

Is this crack on part of the engine mounts or on the engine crash bars, coz I'm confused. If its the crash bars I assume these BMW ones or you wouldn't be talking warranty claims. (Is it an ADV). this is of particular interest as I'm planning to fit some bars and this might mean scratch the BMW items off my list of possible buys and so I'd rather know about it...

Well known problem that they break or fracture, seems there has been a large batch of weak welds that I was advised of over a year ago.

Warranty job, should take no more than 30 minutes to correct in the shop.

Took it to Rydales Cardiff and as is the norm , top service , part on order to be replaced at next servise ( next week ).
