this morning i discovered the exhaust bracket has detached itself from the pillion footrest hanger, bike is a 2003 1150GS ´adventure´with a remus titanium can.

i feel it is not wise to ´electric arc weld´the bracket back on even if i disconnect the battery, what are your views on this and is there a safe way around it ?

it´s too much work to remove the subframe....how good would oxy/aceteylene be ?

cheers for your help

It is okay to weld the frame with ARC/MIG, providing you disconnect the ECU's on the bike first. The only thing is you may have fault codes once they are reconnected.

What bit's broken?

Steel tube pillion peg hanger or the steel bracket that hold tailpipe to the peg hanger?

If it's the peg hanger, disconnect battery & ECU prior to welding. May also be a good idea to remove tank also?

If it's the bracket, then just remove it from the bike to weld.
