This simple mod applies to any bike but shown applied to my F650gs twin. On the few occasions when I dropped the bike and the shock was taken by the Adventure Spec crash bars I was horrified at the loud mechanical bang as the bars hit the tarmac.
Imagine the energy being dissipated through the bars into the bolted connection to the engine and chassis.
Bolt on plastic blocks are readily available on ebay but they do nothing to absorb shock energy and most introduce a hard plastic piece close to the bike fairing plastics-not good.
The rubber footpegs were removed years ago but after trimming they are eminently suitable as rubber bump stops as shown on the pics. to absorb all of the shock energy and protect the connections to the bike.
