crash bars/engine protection bars

Yikes guys........I just ordered some H&B from Motorworks but read on the adv riders site that they have a tendency to hit the road well before the pegs when cornering hard!!

As a wannabe scratcher I am a bit concerned about this. Anyone have any problems / comments about this and do I have to cancel the order??

Not heard that. How often have you touched your pegs down?

Not something I've heard be complained about and there are some 'progressive' riders on here with H&B's on board and they're all professional whingers too!

Never heard of it happening over here. I've got Hepco & Beckers myself. I've also got Verholen footpeg lowers. So, if I was to get my bars down before the pegs I'd be . . . er . . . horizontal.

I doubt you'll find a problem but it's solvable with a better rear spring (WP or Ohlins) or an adjustable torque arm to raise the ride height.

Finally, given the shape of the bars versus the shape of the pegs, I'd prefer my bars touching down.

...and you should remember that I am from the same 'school of motoring' as you - so the answer is...........a few. (mainly as an act of pure desperation / self preservation / last option - delete which applicable)

I agree with this comment.

I must state that as noted by Simon the rear mounting points were a complete bastard to fit.

In hindsight I wished I'd taped up the front engine case, as due to me slipping and grabbing one of the bars for support I now have a deep scratch in it. Pass the touch-up paint.
