Crash bars for GS

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a pair of crash bars for a '06 R1200GS. It has a Remus downpipe..will that effect anything??

If you have any links for websites that sell them and also any pictures if you have crash bars on your GS they would be highly appreciated..

I have just had fitted a set of Motech crash bars, purchased from Nippy Normans.

I tried to fit them but too difficult for me. I thought that they were the wrong bars, queried it with NN, they were the correct bars, even though the instructions quoted them as being for the 2008- and the box said for 2004-

They fit all "1200GS". [said NN] BUT:-

Had them fitted at a local bike garage and even they had difficulty, the engine mounting bolts have to be loosened quite a lot, to enable it to fit. [very tight] and then re-tightened carefully to ensure that they are equal otherwise the bars wont go on, or subsequently may give problems with engine vibration if not 100% [quote garage]

But they were impressed with quality.

I think they look good and hopefully do the job

Do a search and there plenty of good advice.
