had an off today involving a nice big patch of oil at a round about
have seriously scratched up cylinder head cover and crash bars

want to replace them so my girl is looking her best again

where can i find the crash bars from (after market is an option)

cylinder head protectors also, do people like the stock BMW ones or suggest aftermarket ones?

the left side one is fine, so only need the right

Try Motor Works - they sell second hand bits separately - see link at the top of the page - best give them a bell than surfing their site. Or even Sherlocks - again see link at top of page.

Never been a fan of the standard GSA head protectors - my last GSA fell off it's side stand on the drive and even that was enough to wreck the head guard. Not only that it pulled out and stripped one of the mounting bolts threads which then had to be heli coiled :blast

and you replaced with the X-Heads?
only asking as bike is my baby and want the best for her protection wise as i do take her off road and am planning on going to africa with her next year

just wanting reccomendations on replacements, as aftermarket are likely easier to source than factory ones. They just use the same mounting holes? easy enough to fit? do i need to drain engine to take cylinder head or anything off?

Yes I did and have put them on my latest 1200GS as well.
Very easy to fit - use the same mounting points as the BM ones :thumb
