Crash Club 2009 - another member!!

Yep its happened my first bad crash in 20 years of biking

Coming home from work last night at 5pm on a lovely sunny evening and another biker (yes really!!) pulled out straight into my path

I've got a badly dislocated shoulder and numerous bumps and scrapes but have 'bounced well'. The other guy a 19 year old lad has a badly broken leg and is still in hospital (I was discharged this afternoon)

Haven't seen my previously pristine 2008 GSA yet but the police who attended seem to think its a write-off (I hope so) and I have to wait until the police have examined both bikes before I can get it back.

I know there are many who slag off the 'twat' suit but I went 30 feet down the road in mine (or so witnesses said as I blacked out at point of impact)and it did an excellent job albeit the jacket is now destroyed. My head also hit the tarmac several times and all my shoei hornet left me with is a stinging headache.

I'm just pleased to be sat here telling the story..............

Glad to hear you are a walking wounded.
There is a lot of June to August bike gods around.
I had one acting the bollox yesterday in traffic, I was on the last 20km of a 2 week 7500km fast run around Europe and this w--ke- thought he was the baddest biker ever.

Glad you're OK. Shoulder will heal and you can replace the jacket. Tip: if you don't have helmet and leathers insurance, try your home insurance policy, if it has "all risks" for items used outside the home. Mine paid for replacement suit and gloves earlier this year. Wouldn't pay for the helmet though as they deemed that to be a "motorcycle accessory"...

Got the bike back today and the front end is pretty much fooked

It 'appears' not too bad at first look so will have to see what the assessor says

sorry to here about your crash,my 1200gs had similer damage to yours,front,forks r/h side mine was a write off and i was only doing 20mph.got an 08 gs now so if you want to take your hid,s off i will send some cash your way,get well soon.
