Crash Club 2009 - another member!!

Nick,
25 years on the road - and a few walk away spills myself !
Must be due my biggie soon - just hope I walk from A+E next day?

Don't be too hard on the kid. I was that yoof once. And yes it hurt. Yes I felt bad. And it also ruined my day!

BEST WISHES.

Big Nick,
Good to hear you're on the mend, you are the most important, the bike and the gear can be replaced. Congratulations on the new GS, sounds like a cracker! Is it Magma Red?:D:bow It's interesting to see that your jacket did it's job, I wear one the same but often wondered how well it would hold out in a spill (I was on my way back from Seaways this afternoon and nearly got mashed and killed by some prick in a Corsa!)
Good luck with your new GS and speedy recovery mate!:D
Richard.

Nick, hope all is now good again.

Had my first off last night - a round-about in Southport, Lord St. Audi people carrier pulled out on the roundabout - driver didnt look right and came hurtling out. I had no chance.

Road was wet, managed to get a handful of front brake, didnt even get chance to apply any rear brake, about 3 feet from the Audi, the front wheel went West and down the bike went, me included. I gashed my left shin.

The bike stopped 6 inches short of hitting the Audi - a mother and daughter inside.

A couple of decent folk helped get the bike up, a cab driver and a guy from a bar that saw it happen - bloody good of 'em!

Bike is good - no fuel spilled, an ever so slight gravel chip on the upper left crash bar and the left cylinder head guard / cover suffered a bit of "gravel rash". Remarkable so little damage occured to be honest, but Im so glad the protective kit is on the thing. No damage to mirrors, bar ends / grips or pegs. Thanks BMW!

Weird, wasn't too freaked out after it happened, but today its sinking in how bad it could have been. :eek

Im back out on my GSA today though, these things are addictive! :)

Will try and post some pics of the crash bar and cylinder head protector that took the brunt of the GSA going down if people are interested?

Repair claim?

The only question is: If you had 'feathered' the brakes and hit the audi would your claim against the ****** be any easier? Goog luck with the repairs/confidense rebuild anyway.
