Both look great, but i can tell you from experience mine has been on his ass a few times in Morocco, Tunisia and Thetford forest and the AS bars have taken the punishment, without missing a beat.
A quick rub down and a bit of paint and they are as good as new.)

As the owner of the bike in the 3rd pic, i prefer the metal mule ones because of their aesthetic superiority (IMO).
The ADVSPEC ones look thicker and more protective, too much I would say, and so I considered them an overkill and did not choose them.

When my bike was crashbar-free It fell twice on its side, luckily very softly in both cases. After I installed them -almost two years now- they never had to do their job, but at least they add confidence to the driver knowing that his bike is more protected. :comfort

I struggle to see much difference to be honest. Perhaps the A-S ones sit further away from the bike but it's hard to tell from the photos posted.

I have recently installed the A-S ones and am happy. I'm sure if I'd ordered the others I'd also be happy.

I'd go by price and availability :nenau

Got Metal Mule ones and they've done their job numerous times.

Met the folk that make them at a Horizons meeting too, and they're a great bunch. Are AS made in Britain?

Another vote for Adventure Spec. Mine have taken a couple of big hits and I've seen two other sets that have also taken a severe beating. All have done their job brilliantly.

It was a tough choice but I went with the Adventure-Spec crash bars in the end... RAPID delivery too BTW, less than 48hrs! I'll get them fitted at the weekend and post pics. :beerjug:

I have tested the AS ones more than once - more than twice come to think of it :D and I can vouch for their effectiveness.

I've dropped my 800 a couple of times. AV have saved me from forking out cash on replacement parts I'm sure. Love them and would recommend! I've seen them used on a 800 rally prepared bike in Sardinia and it looked as though they'd been through hell.....the bike underneath seemed fine though:)
